Gallery profile

The Jorge Mara-La Ruche Gallery, which was inaugurated in late 2001, is a new space continuing the tradition of the Jorge Mara gallery renown in Buenos Aires in the 1980s, and the gallery of the same name exhibiting in Madrid from 1990-98.

In his latest undertaking, Jorge Mara is focusing on the work of up and coming artists, as well as organizing exhibits spotlighting distinctive facets of already established ones.

Exhibits in Spain in the ‘90s included: “Millares sobre papel”; “Feito año 1960”; “Guerrero en Nueva York”; “Henri Michaux”; “Mark Tobey”; “Ben Nicholson”; “Rafael Barradas”; “Estrada”; “ Washington Barcala”; “Zoran Music”, among others; and in Argentina in the ‘80s: “Alfredo Guttero”; “Aizenberg y el Surrealismo”; “La Nueva Figuración: De la Vega, Maccio, Deira, Noe” and others.

The following artists have exhibited in the new space – in Buenos Aires: Fernando Allievi, Carlos Arnaiz, Roberto Aizenberg, Marcolina Dipierro, Roberto Elía, Estrada, José Antonio Fernández- Muro, León Ferrari, Sarah Grilo, Alfredo Hlito, Kirin, Macaparana, Amalia Nieto, Kvata Pacovská, César Paternosto, Ana Sacerdote, Fidel Sclavo, Eduardo Stupía, etc., all of whom have exhibited abroad and are represented by us.
